Today Kristin became a GreenGold EnviroSchool. EnviroSchools is a national program that helps schools start their sustainability journey. Kristin's journey started in 2018 when we went for Bronze. This marked the start of a huge effort to elevate the presence of sustainability values across our community. In fact, the Council of Sustainability was created in the same year of our Bronze award. Since then, the amount of time our community has dedicated to sustainability and environmental leadership has exploded.
We were recognized as a Silver school in 2019, where the school was able to show off environmental science courses, some of our many service/enviro clubs, and ambitious school-wide sustainability goals.
It would be many years before we went for GreenGold. COVID-19, new challenges and new ambitions meant we had a lot to work on. We took the time to make sure Kristin was ready to reach the standards required for GreenGold. You can read more about our EnviroSchools journey on this special site.
