This week the Council of Sustainability held the first Kristin sustainable conference with all the sustainable groups within the school. This is huge for Kristin as it is our first successful undertaking of this meeting. Since the council’s beginning a stronger bond within the sustainable groups has been desired but unfortunately, due to various factors and circumstances, this has never been effective.Â
This meeting consisted of representatives from all the sustainable groups meeting with the council and listening to a presentation run by our sustainable groups committee; Angela Li, Shayan Tabatabaei Ardekani, and Cara Wallace. This presentation introduced the groups to the council, available resources and a proposal with the desired outcomes from the constant gathering of these groups. Our goal is to gather with representatives of these groups every Wk 7 on a semesterly or termly basis, starting from 2024. This is aimed at maintaining and nourishing relationships within these groups and with the CoS. Hopefully, the CoS is able to continue to develop this goal which will ultimately, improve the productivity and companionship of the sustainable groups in Kristin.
